Sly Castaldi has been involved in the anti-violence sector for 24 years.
Sly has served as President of the Board of Directors and Founding Member of the Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County, Chair and Founding Member of the Guelph-Wellington Action Committee on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, Chair and Founder of the Safe City Committee, and Executive Member of the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centers.
Sly was also a Member of the Board of Directors of Victim Services Wellington and a Founding Member of the Sexual Assault Care and Treatment Program at the Guelph General Hospital. She was appointed to the Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues Domestic Violence Advisory Council.
Sly was the recipient of the Women of Distinction award in the category of Public Service, 2010 and also served as Honorary Chair of Women of Distinction in 2011.
She was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal on June 25th, 2012.
Sly was also a recipient of the Community Award from Crime Prevention Ontario.
